Cheezing-It

Like a typical guy, who loves college football, I was watching College Gameday on ESPN as I prepared for an eventful, fun filled day of watching college football. After a commercial break something caught my eye and made me think. It was the Cheez-It Real Fan Cam. At first I thought to myself, "What the heck does crackers, college football, and a fan cam have in common? My Marketing mind began to wonder and think, then it hit me. This was actually a brilliant idea and concept and here's why:



  • You know when you take a picture, the photographer usually says "Cheese", or have you heard the slang phrase "cheesing it" in a photo. Well here's the first reason how ESPN connected their sponsor to an exciting concept.
  • As the picture above shows, if a fan was in attendance and captured by the Fan Cam, they can go to the website and tag themselves in the photo
Cheez-It was also able to add another awesome feature to the College Gameday atmosphere, the AmaZING Fan Zone. Cheez-It and College Gameday was able to partner together to promote their new kind of cracker, Cheez-It Zingz. Through this partnership they linked together the bold flavor of the ZINGZ with the boldness of the College Gameday crowd. 




To me College Gameday and Cheez-It scored big. But this is just my opinion of the angle and concept they were after. Either way both parties seem to be benefiting quite well through a unique and exciting partnership!
